Location:
The 2100 Building
2100 24th Avenue S.
Seattle, WA 98144
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
Are you interested in facilitating discussions about diversity and cultural competency in your organization?
Do you and your colleagues want to discuss topics such as Effective Cross-Cultural Communication, Creating an Inclusive Workplace Environment, or Understanding Systemic Privilege and Oppression, but lack the funds to hire an outside facilitator?
This interactive workshop helps participants build skills to facilitate safe and productive conversations about culture. This training is strictly focused on the design and facilitation of conversations about equity and diversity. Participants should already have a solid personal understanding of cultural competency.
Every participant has the opportunity to practice facilitating, and will receive the discussion questions generated in this session to use at their organizations. If possible, organizations should consider sending teams of 3 to 5 individuals to increase your ability to implement the discussions.

Participants will be able to:
-
Understand individual change theory in relationship to cultural competency
-
Recognize and appropriately address resistance to cultural competency
-
Practice planning for and facilitating discussions about diversity and cultural competency

(This workshop has been designed for staff across levels.)
